HLTH 2400
Literature Review
For my Determinants of Health Behavior class (HLTH 2400), I developed a literature review titled "The Effects of Sports as a Physical Activity on the Mental Health of Adolescents." The purpose of this artifact was to synthesize existing research regarding how participation in sports impacts the mental well-being of adolescents and describes how physical activity influences mental health. This project furthered my knowledge of the determinants of health behavior and the role of physical activity in mental health promotion among adolescents. I enhanced my
research skills through extensive literature searches and learned to critically analyze data, which furthered my problem-solving skills when synthesizing findings. One of the challenges was navigating through the various amounts of literature on the topic. For this, I had to devise a systematic approach to classify and use the literature effectively. This experience will be
invaluable in my pursuit of a career that may involve research. It has equipped me with the skills to apply evidence-based solutions to real-world health issues and address health equity challenges within my future profession.

HLTH 4700
Global Health Paper
wrote a research paper on Morocco and SDG #3: Good Health and Well-Being for my Global
Health class (HLTH 4700). This assignment required students to analyze the current status of the country with regard to its progress toward its goal, drawing together health and socioeconomic factors affecting that country's progress. This includes how increasing education, reducing unemployment, and strengthening healthcare reform are key strategies toward achieving good health by the year 2030. This artifact matters because it deepened my understanding of how socio-economic determinants influence public health systems. I developed my critical thinking and research skills through the evaluation of diverse data sources and the creation of evidence-based recommendations. One of the challenges that I have faced included finding relevant data about Morocco's healthcare infrastructure, which was resolved by looking through many academic databases and government reports. This provided me with the opportunity for hands-on experience and skills that are useful in tackling health-related problems during my future career.
